Color Outside – Keeyla Meadows

Yesterday on a fountain excursion to American Soil I wandered into the landscape work of Keeyla Meadows and never wanted to leave. I’d seen pictures before of her outdoor art, but didn’t make the immediately connection to the beautiful display I was captivated by. Hours of research later, and I’m ready to start my own paver and planter designs. I’ll need her master vision to put it all together, but I can get some of the pieces going now.

Her work reminds me of Matisse — so here is a jumble of inspirational images. Pottery class on my list for next fall.

Kantha Pillow

My Dad died last week and I’m trying a little retail therapy. This green pillow made me happy. I’ll always think of him when I see it. He loved to be outside, running cross country.

Vintage 100% cotton kantha pillow. This gorgeously vibrant pillow is made from vintage hand-quilted Indian sari. Each quilt is pieced together from reclaimed cotton sari and hand sewn incorporating various patches of coordinating fabrics. 22″x22″” knife edge pillow with included 90/10% Feather/Down insert. Pillows are finished throughout and have an envelope closure.  Etsy: $128.00

Bar Stool Dilemma

Bars/counter/kitchen are really important. For one thing, the often get used more than any other seating. And they are often very noticable. We’d like ours to be fun, comfortable, and not stand out too much. We’re torn between plain wood, upholstered and decopaged with pop art?
